A Legacy Walk Experience
Maya Angelou wrote: "There is no greater agony
than bearing an untold story inside you."
Preserve a Lifetime of Stories
Every life is a library of wisdom, but too often, those stories are lost to time. Introduce your loved ones to Steps for Stories, A Legacy Walk Experience.
For $75, we spend an hour strolling gentle pathways, with rest stops, through a beautiful East Bay location. Explore your experiences with a Director of Storytelling, Allison Bliss, who curates a discussion for you to reflect on your life journey, celebrate milestones, and intentionally shape the narrative you leave behind for future generations.
Give your children, grandchildren or other loved ones a gift that lasts forever: Your history, told entirely in your own voice.
What You Receive
Within 48 hours, you'll receive your recorded story covering the main plot points or life overview - the "story arc" of your life. You're guided through your memories, triumphs, challenges, and values.
Afterwards, you have an option for two (2) additional walks to expand or flesh out more details of your life story, offered at a special rate. Written transcripts can be provided for an additional $75, if requested.
The Experience
This gentle, low-intensity walk is custom-tailored to your physical comfort with rest periods whenever requested.
After all, when were you planning the time to write your own autobiography?
Without capturing the life story of parents (or grandparents), the children often lose that legacy - the firsthand detail and historical context, once their elders are gone. Do not wait until it's too late!
Did you know that Personal Historians average $10,000-$50,000 to create your story? Our cost is a fraction of that and you get your story within 48 hours, too.
Take some steps while your story is captured
Purposeful Mental and Physical Health
Walking is great exercise. Walking and talking to truly connect with another person is one of the most powerful, evidence-backed ways to protect your brain against dementia.
24% of community-dwelling Americans 65+ are clinically socially isolated (this includes work at home adults, too!)
Social isolation is associated with a 50% increased risk of developing dementia and a 29% increased risk of coronary heart disease.
Additional Benefits
"Creates new neurons for your brain & repairs existing connections
Builds a protective barrier against cognitive decline
Benefits your cardiovascular system
Enables cortisol to drop faster & blood pressure to moderate
Shifts nervous system out of chronic stress into a healing mode"
The social element of companion walks amplifies this response!"

Your Guide

Your Guide/Director, Allison Bliss, brings decades of experience in storytelling for major feature films, theatre, Broadcast television, and business, plus lived experience across multiple careers, cultures, wins, losses, and life transitions.
These walks were created based on her experience with hundreds (maybe thousands) of interviews because of a fascination with people and their stories. These walks are not related to her Marketing business. If you seek business advice, check out her Walks With Bliss.
She also helps historical walking tours to learn the story of various towns and neighborhoods. That means you walk with someone endlessly curious, who has the capacity to genuinely relate to whatever chapter you are in now.
