This month, I’m seeking your best ideas to help businesses attract clients they love.
Why?
Because those are the most fun to work with and usually the most profitable, too!
I’m presenting on this topic over the next few months and want to include your ideas, thoughts, experiences and tips. Not everyone knows how to do this. So, please share what works best for you.
If you’d like to attend an upcoming presentation, just contact us for updates. Or keep an eye on our Facebook Page.
On September 28, 2011 ( 7-9pm) I’ll be presenting to astrologers, tarot and hand readers (and other metaphysicians) at Cafe Aquarius in Emeryville, CA sharing tips I’ve used in my own various careers.
I’ll also be leading the audience through a kind of vision quest to deeply understand marketing strategies that have helped my clients attract markets they truly enjoy. I’ve got an idea to share some of the tasty big principles about marketing and how those affect any business – even ‘Readers’ or other evolved Artists & Professionals. (Really, the principles of marketing are quite similar in perspective to business as big principles in astrology offering perspective of planets shifting events on earth).
YOU DON’T HAVE TO RSVP, BUT PLEASE LET US KNOW!
The signup page asks you to RSVP and requires you to join the meetup group to do so. If you don’t wish to join the group (but oh, it’s quite fascinating the monthly mini readings they do offering a variety of readers all in one place!), you can contact us to reserve your spot. SEATING IS LIMITED SO SIGN UP SOON!
YOUR COMMENTS, INSIGHTS OR IDEAS?
Thanks for sharing your tips, ideas, questions, or thoughts on this topic in the comments below! Let me know if I can share some of your great ideas with this group, too.
Thanks to Molly Walker of Walker Communications (www.mwalkercommunications.com) who emailed me this comment about “How do you attract clients you love?”:
Clients refer people they think well of. I find that referrals come without asking for them, BUT it is important to let people know when you have open time and would enjoy getting more work, and also letting your clients and others know:
–WHAT YOU DO
–WHAT YOU LIKE TO DO and
–WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR OTHER CLIENTS THEY MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT.
I find that clients often don’t realize WHAT ELSE you do if you don’t tell them and include them in your marketing. They think they know you, but they may not. Plus, it’s likely you are not the consultant they met; you may have developed many more skills over the months and maybe years since you first started working together.
But getting back to your question, I think this may be instinct. You know when you first meet someone if you are in sync with them, if you like them and if they respond to you. Sometimes you’re wrong, but not often. I think you need to continue to stay in touch with yourself, learn from good and bad experiences, and ask some or all of these questions:
–Do they listen?
–Do they answer your questions?
–Do they know what they want?
–Do they know when you are giving them what they want?
–Do they appreciate your ideas?
–Do they listen when you have a better idea?
–Do they encourage even better ideas?
–Are they positive?
–Do they have a work ethic?
–Do they care about the project?
–Are they inspiring?
–Do they appreciate what you do for them?
–Do they give you free rein or micro-manage you? (What is your own work style? If these are hot buttons for you, watch this carefully!)
…and many more.
